About 4.8 million are living with diabetes in the UK and an estimated seven million people in the UK have pre-diabetes.
Having too much sugar circulating in the body and the consistent spikes and low can bring about imbalances in the hormones. Initially this can be ignored because when we are younger it is easier for most people to metabolize these sugars but as it continues, it can bring about chronic conditions.

Testosterone in Women:
High blood sugar is the main cause of high Testosterone in women and the increase in the prevalence of Polycystic Ovaries.
If your blood sugar is too high leading to excess testosterone, your body can convert this excess testosterone to oestrogen this then makes you oestrogen dominance.
Oestrogen dominance in women is when the oestrogen circulating in the body is not being balanced by the progesterone and is proportionally in excess.
Signs that you may be oestrogen dominant include PMS, Thyroid nodules, fibroids, breast and uterine cancers, miscarriages, infertility, allergies and hip fat.
Having constant spikes in blood sugar, makes the adrenals work extra hard to stabilize blood sugar levels. This dysregulation brings about adrenal fatigue.
Solutions to Balancing Sugar:
Eat more protein to make you less hungry and avoid these spikes and lows. Eat more seeds nuts good oils Sesame/ Avocado.
Avoid complex carbohydrates such as white rice /white bread.
Go more for high fibre foods. Avoid only fruit based smoothies but add in vegetables as concentrated fructose spikes sugar. Be aware of the fact that caffeine in coffee also spikes the sugar.
